VSAddin August CTP Changes#

At first glance at the August CTP of Visual Studio .NET 2005 I noticed that addins now have the .Addin file in “My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Addins” instead of “Application Data\Microsoft\MSEnvShared\Addins”

Busy Times#

This summer has brought some busy times.  I have been traveling back and forth to Redmond, WA selling our home and buying a new home.  Today my wife and I finally got the word that the inspection resolution was complete on our new house so we are ready to move forward.  This has been a trying time for me.  This whole situation really shows my red qualities, anyone who knows  Peter, Brad and Scott knows what I’m talking about.  I have done more swearing these past two weeks than I have in a while.  Oh well, life goes on and hopefully it will be in a new house.

Refering to open generic types#
This post points out how to work with open generic types.  Good to know so I will not be scratching my head wondering what the hell the code is doing.

Buying a house part duex#
Well, things are looking better.  After what happened in yesterday our realtor stepped up and got them to put in air conditioning.  So hopefully I do not have to hear my wife be disappointed any more since she is getting the house she wanted and I’m getting my AC.

What makes a good war room?#

Some people may think that a war room is a bunch of people gathering in a conference room.  I beg to differ with that point of view.  If the team can not personalize the room by adding such things as music, lights, posters then it is not a war room.  The point is to make the team feel comfortable in their workspace and make it easy to talk to each other.  The current workspace at PAG (shown below) has many of these customizations.  A good war room can make going to work each day fun again.
